I like to train three to four times a week in the gym and I am currently working with Steve McGregor on my strength and conditioning. This involves 8-12 week programmes working through first good posture and alignment (no rounded shoulders, anterior tilt being the the most common), and then moving on through stability and balance, and then into strength and power.

Currently, I am in the foundation part of the power exercises, having already seen improvements in my balance and stability on the course and hoping to then start to see an increase in distance, primarily off the tee. Please check my blog to see how this is going.

I like to eat healthily (bar the odd treat!), especially leading up to and during tournaments as fuelling your body correctly can give you a big advantage on the course. Making sure I have plenty of carbohydrates before and after a round is the main focus during a tournament week, also maintaining good hydration throughout. Your body is like a car...if it has insufficient fuel it will not run how you want it to. Combining the carbs with high protein meals/snacks before and after training in the gym allows me to ensure I am giving my body optimum chance to perform during competition.
